Abu Usama narrated to us, he said: Abu Umayr narrated to me, from Ayyub, from a man, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The first of the Arab women to introduce the trailing of garments was the mother of Ishmael. He said: When she fled from Sarah, she let down her garment to conceal her tracks. And the first to perform the circumambulation (Sa'i) between al-Safa and al-Marwa was the mother of Ishmael.
