My father narrated to us, Abd al-Razzaq narrated to us, Ma'mar narrated to us, from Yahya ibn Abi Kathir, who said: The first woman the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, married was Khadija bint Khuwaylid. Then he married Sawda bint Zam'a. Then he married Aisha bint Abi Bakr in Mecca and consummated the marriage with her in Medina. Then he married in Medina Zaynab bint Khuzayma al-Hilaliyya. Then he married Umm Salama bint Abi Umayya. Then he married Juwayriya bint al-Harith from Banu al-Mustaliq, and she was among what Allah had granted him as spoils of war. Then he married Maymuna bint al-Harith, and she is the one who gifted herself to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Then he married Safiyya bint Huyayy, and she was among what Allah had granted him as spoils of war on the day of Khaybar. Then he married Zaynab bint Jahsh, and she was the wife of Zayd ibn Haritha. Zaynab bint Khuzayma died before the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. And he married Hafsa bint Umar, Umm Habiba bint Abi Sufyan, the Kindite woman, and a woman from Kalb. The total number of those he married was fourteen women.
