Maslama narrated to us, he said: I read to Abu al-Abbas Ahmad ibn Isa, known as Ibn al-Washsha, [who said]: Abu Ja’far Muhammad ibn Ahmad ibn Fayruz al-‘Abdi, the righteous servant, narrated to you, he said: Ali ibn Khashram narrated to us, he said: Isa ibn Yunus narrated to us, from Rabi’ah ibn ‘Uthman, from Sa’d ibn Ibrahim, from his father, that he said: The first to deliver a sermon (khutbah) upon the pulpits (minbars) was Ibrahim, the Friend of the Most Merciful (Khalil al-Rahman), upon him be prayer and peace.
