Hadith 34:45
Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from ‘Ata’ ibn al-Sa’ib, from al-Hasan, who said: The first crucified person to be crucified in Islam was a man from Banu Layth. Quraysh had set for him [a reward of] awaqi [units of silver/gold] on the condition that he kill the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. Gabriel came to him and informed him, so the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sent for him and ordered that he be crucified.
حدثنا بن فضيل عن عطاء بن السائب عن الحسن قال أول مصلوب صلب في الإسلام رجل من بني ليث جعلت له قريش أواقي على أن يقتل النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأتاه جبريل فأخبره فبعث إليه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فأمر به فصلب
