Malik ibn Isma'il narrated to us, Hureym narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq al-Shaybani, from Muhammad ibn 'Ubayd Allah al-Thaqafi, who said: A man from Thaqif, who was called Nafi' ibn al-Harith, came to 'Umar. He was the first to cultivate the uncultivated land in Basra.
