Hadith 34:58
Affan narrated to us, Shu'bah narrated to us, from Abu Ishaq, who said: I heard Al-Bara' say: The first of the companions of the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) to arrive to us were Mus'ab bin 'Umayr and Ibn Umm Maktum. They began to recite the Quran. He said: Then came 'Ammar, Bilal, and Sa'd. Then came 'Umar bin al-Khattab among twenty. Then came the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace). I have never seen the people of Medina rejoice over anything as they rejoiced over him.
حدثنا عفان حدثنا شعبة عن أبي إسحاق سمعت البراء يقول أول من قدم علينا من أصحاب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم مصعب بن عمير وبن أم مكتوم فجعلا يقرآن القرآن قال ثم جاء عمار وبلال وسعد ثم جاء عمر بن الخطاب في عشرين ثم جاء رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فما رأيت أهل المدينة فرحوا بشيء فرحهم به
