Hadith 34:71
'Abbad ibn al-'Awwam narrated to us, from Husayn, from Mujahid, that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) met a group of people among whom was a singer (hadi) who was singing (huda). When they saw the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), their singer fell silent. He said, "Who are the people?" They said, "From Mudar." The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, "And I am from Mudar." He then said, "What is the matter with your singer? He is not singing." They said, "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), we are the first of the Arabs to sing (huda). And that is because a man among us—they named him Gharb—had camels, and he had them during the days of spring. He sent a servant of his with the camels, but the servant was slow, then he came. He began to strike him with a stick on his hand, so the servant went off saying, 'Oh, my hand! Oh, my hand!' He said, 'Then the camels moved and became energetic.' He said to him, 'Stop! Stop!' He said, 'So the people began the singing (huda).'"
