Hadith 6:1008
Muhammad ibn Ubayd narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Kaysan narrated to us, from Abu Hazim, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) visited the grave of his mother, so he wept, and he caused those who were around him to weep. He said: "I sought permission from my Lord to ask for forgiveness for her, but He did not grant me permission. And I sought His permission to visit her grave, and He granted me permission. So visit the graves, for they remind you of death."
حدثنا محمد بن عبيد قال حدثنا يزيد بن كيسان عن أبي حازم عن أبي هريرة قال زار رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قبر أمه فبكى وأبكى من كان حوله فقال استأذنت ربي أن استغفر لها فلم يأذن لي واستأذنته في أن أزور قبرها فأذن لي فزوروا القبور فإنها تذكركم الموت
