Hadith 6:1016
'Abdah ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, from 'Aishah, that Umm Salamah mentioned to the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) a church she had seen in the land of Abyssinia, which was called Mariyah. She mentioned to him what she had seen in it of images. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said: "Those are a people who, when a righteous servant or a righteous man among them dies, they build a place of worship over his grave and depict those images in it. Those are the worst of creation in the sight of Allah the Almighty."
حدثنا عبدة بن سليمان عن هشام عن أبيه عن عائشة أن أم سلمة ذكرت للنبي صلى الله عليه وسلم كنيسة قد رأتها في أرض الحبشة يقال لها مارية فذكرت له ما رأت فيها من الصور فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أولئك قوم إذا مات فيهم العبد الصالح أو الرجل الصالح بنوا على قبره مسجدا وصوروا فيه تلك الصور فأولئك شرار الخلق عند الله عز وجل
