Hadith 6:1068
Sharik narrated to us, from Simak, from Jabir ibn Samura, that a man from the companions of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, suffered a wound, and it lingered with him. So he crawled to a quiver of his that was with his sword, took an arrowhead, and killed himself with it. The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, did not pray over him. Sharik mentioned from Abu Ja'far, saying: "He only refrained from praying over him as a disciplinary measure for him."
حدثنا شريك عن سماك عن جابر بن سمرة أن رجلا من اصحاب النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم أصابته جراحة فامتدت به فدب إلى قرت له في سيفه فأخذ مشقصا فقتل به نفسه فلم يصل عليه النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وذكر شريك عن أبي جعفر قال إنما ادع الصلاة عليه أدبا له
