Hadith 6:11
Waki’ narrated to us, from Musa ibn ‘Ubaydah, from ‘Alqamah ibn Marthad, from Hafs ibn ‘Abd Allah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: Fever was mentioned in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and a man cursed it. He said to him: "Do not curse it, for it removes sins just as fire removes the dross of iron."
حدثنا وكيع عن موسى بن عبيدة عن علقمة بن مرثد عن حفص بن عبد الله عن أبي هريرة قال ذكرت الحمى عند رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فسبها رجل فقال له لا تسبها فإنها تنفي الذنوب كما تنفي النار خبث الحديد
