Abu Abd al-Rahman Baqi ibn Makhlad narrated to us, Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Abd Allah ibn Abi Shayba narrated to us, Salam Abu al-Ahwas narrated to us, from Mansur, from Abd Allah ibn Abd al-Rahman ibn Abza, who said: When the news of a man’s death reached Ali, he would say: "To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return. O Allah, raise his rank among the guided, and be a successor to him among those who remain. We seek his reward from You, O Lord of the worlds. Do not let us go astray after him, and do not deprive us of his reward."
