Hadith 6:1187
Waki’ narrated to us, from Mis’ar, from Ayyub, the freed slave of Banu Tha’labah, from Qutbah ibn Malik, who said: One of the commanders insulted Ali. Zayd ibn Arqam stood up to him and said: "Do you not know that the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) forbade the insulting of the dead? So why do you insult Ali, when he has died?"
