Hadith 6:1194
Hushaym ibn Bashir narrated to us, [who said] ‘Abd al-‘Aziz ibn Suhayb narrated to us, from al-Hasan, who said: A funeral passed by the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and it was praised with good until the tongues followed one another. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "It has become incumbent." He said: And a funeral passed by him, and it was praised with evil until the tongues followed one another. The Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) said, "It has become incumbent." ‘Umar ibn al-Khattab said, "O Messenger of Allah, you said regarding the first funeral, when it was praised with good, 'It has become incumbent,' and you said the same regarding the second." He said, "This one, you praised him with good, so Paradise became incumbent for him. And this one, you praised him with evil, so the Fire became incumbent for him. You are the witnesses of Allah upon the earth," [repeating it] two or three times.
حدثنا هشيم بن بشير حدثنا عبد العزيز بن صهيب عن الحسن قال مرت جنازة برسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فأثني عليها بخير حتى تتابعت الألسن فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وجبت قال ومرت به جنازة فأثني عليها بشر حتى تتابعت الألسن فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم وجبت فقال عمر بن الخطاب يا رسول الله قلت في الجنازة الأولى حيث أثني عليها خيرا وجبت وقلت في الثانية كذلك فقال هذا أثنيتم عليه خيرا فوجبت له الجنة وهذا أثنيتم عليه شرا فوجبت له النار انكم شهود الله في الأرض مرتين أو ثلاثا
