Hadith 6:1230
Waki’ narrated to us, from Mis’ar, from ‘Alqamah ibn Marthad, from al-Mughirah ibn ‘Abd Allah al-Yashkuri, from al-Ma’rur ibn Suwayd, from ‘Abd Allah, who said: Umm Habibah, the wife of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "O Allah, let me enjoy my husband, the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and my father, Abu Sufyan, and my brother, Mu’awiyah." The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "You have asked Allah for set terms, numbered days, and divided provisions, that He hasten something before its term or delay something beyond its term. If you had asked Allah to protect you from a punishment in the Fire or a punishment in the grave, it would have been better and more excellent."
حدثنا وكيع عن مسعر عن علقمة بن مرثد عن المغيرة بن عبد الله اليشكري عن المعرور بن سويد عن عبد الله قال قالت أم حبيبة زوج النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم اللهم متعني بزوجي النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وبابي أبي سفيان وبأخي معاوية فقال النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم انك قد سألت الله لآجال مضروبة وأيام معدودة وأرزاق مقسومة أن يعجل شيئا قبل أجله وأن يؤخر شيئا عن أجله ولو كنت سألت الله أن يعيذك من عذاب في النار أو عذاب في القبر كان خيرا وأفضل
