Hadith 6:1233
Abu Mu'awiyah and Ibn Numayr narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from al-Minhal, from Zadhan, from al-Bara' who said: We went out with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, for the funeral of a man from the Ansar. We reached the grave, and it had not yet been dug (the *lahd* niche had not been made). The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, sat down, and we sat around him as if birds were upon our heads. In his hand was a stick with which he was poking the ground. He raised his head and said: "Seek refuge in Allah from the punishment of the grave." Except that Ibn Numayr said: "Al-A'mash narrated to us," and he said: "Al-Minhal narrated to us."
