Hadith 6:1323
Al-Fadl ibn Dukayn narrated to us, Israel narrated to us, from Abdullah ibn Isa, from Jubayr ibn Atik, from his uncle, who said: I entered with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, upon a man from the Ansar while his family was weeping. I said, "Are you weeping for him while the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, is here?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "Leave them to weep as long as he is among them, but when it becomes necessary (i.e., when the soul has departed), then let them not weep."
حدثنا الفضل بن دكين ثنا إسرائيل عن عبد الله بن عيسى عن جبير بن عتيك عن عمه قال دخلت مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم على رجل من الأنصار وأهله يبكون فقلت أتبكون عليه وهذا رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم دعهن يبكين ما دام عندهن فإذا وجب فلا يبكين
