Hadith 6:1337
Affan narrated to us, Wahib narrated to us, from Hisham ibn Urwah, from Wahb ibn Kaysan, from Muhammad ibn Amr ibn Ata, from Salamah ibn al-Azraq, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, passed by a funeral that was being wept over, and I was with him, as was Umar ibn al-Khattab. Umar rebuked the women who were weeping with the funeral. The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said: "Leave them, O son of al-Khattab, for the soul is afflicted, the eye is tearful, and the covenant is recent."
