Hadith 6:251
Muhammad ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Hisham, from his father, from Aisha, who said: When Abu Bakr was dying, he said: "In how many garments was the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) shrouded?" I said: "In three Sahuli garments." He said: "Then he looked at a worn-out garment he was wearing and said: 'Wash this one and add two other garments to it.'" I said: "Rather, we will buy you new garments." He said: "The living is more deserving of the new than the dead; it is only for the pus."
حدثنا محمد بن فضيل عن هشام عن أبيه عن عائشة قالت لما حضر أبو بكر قال في كم كفن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قلت في ثلاثة أثواب سحولية قال فنظر إلى ثوب خلق عليه فقال اغسلوا هذا وزيدوا عليه ثوبين آخرين فقلت بل نشتري لك ثيابا جددا قال الحي أحق بالجديد من الميت إنما هي للمهلة
