Hadith 6:252
Sufyan ibn 'Uyaynah narrated to us, from 'Amr, from Ibn Abi Mulaykah, from 'Aishah, who said: Abu Bakr said, "In how many [garments] did you shroud the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace?" I said, "In three garments." He said, "Then wash these two garments of mine and buy me a [new] garment from the market." I said, "We are well-off." He said, "O my daughter, the living is more deserving of the new [garment] than the dead; it is only for the decay and the pus."
حدثنا سفيان بن عيينة عن عمرو عن بن أبي مليكة عن عائشة قالت قال أبو بكر في كم كفنتم رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فقلت في ثلاثة أثواب قال فاغسلوا ثوبي هذين واشتروا لي ثوبا من السوق قالت انا موسرون قال يا بنية الحي أحق بالجديد من الميت إنما هو للمهلة والصديد
