Hadith 6:308
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Hisham, who said: I asked Umm al-Humayd, the daughter of Sirin, "Did you see Hafsa, when she was washed [after death], how she would do with the woman’s head-covering (khimar)?" She said: "Yes, she would cover her head with it just as the living person is covered. Then, an amount of a cubit would remain from the head-covering, so she would spread it out at her back, then fold that excess over and cover her face with it."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن هشام قال سألت أم الحميد ابنة سيرين هل رأيت حفصة إذا غسلت كيف تصنع بخمار المرأة قالت نعم كانت تخمرها كما تخمر الحية ثم يفضل من الخمار قدر ذراع فتفرشه في مؤخرها ثم تعطف تلك الفضلة فتغطي بها وجهها
