Hadith 6:340
Yahya ibn Sa'id al-Qattan narrated to us, from al-Ja'd, from Aisha bint Sa'd, who said: Sa'd was informed of the funeral of Sa'd ibn Zayd while he was at al-Baqi'. He came, washed him, shrouded him, and applied embalming perfume to him. Then he came to his house and prayed over him. Then he called for water and performed ghusl (a ritual bath). Then he said: "I did not perform ghusl because of washing him, even if he were impure, but I performed ghusl because of the heat."
حدثنا يحيى بن سعيد القطان عن الجعد عن عائشة بنت سعد قالت أوذن سعد بجنازة سعد بن زيد وهو بالبقيع فجاء وغسله وكفنه وحنطه ثم أتى داره فصلى عليه ثم دعا بماء فاغتسل ثم قال إني لم اغتسل من غسله ولو كان نجسا ولكني اغتسلت من الحر
