Hadith 6:4
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Ibn Muhaysin, from Muhammad ibn Qays ibn Makhramah, from Abu Hurayrah, who said: When this verse was revealed: "Whoever does evil will be recompensed for it," it weighed heavily upon the Muslims and reached them, and they complained about that to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him. He said: "Draw near (to the truth) and be upright, for everything that afflicts a Muslim is an expiation, even the calamity that befalls him and the thorn that pricks him."
