Hadith 6:418
Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Uthman ibn Hakim informed us, from Kharijah ibn Zayd, from his uncle Yazid ibn Thabit—and he was older than Zayd—he said: We went out with the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), and when we arrived at al-Baqi', there was a new grave. He asked about it, and they said: "So-and-so [woman]," and he recognized her. He said: He then said, "Why did you not inform me about her?" They said, "You were resting and fasting, so we disliked to inform you." He said, "Do not do [that]. Let me not know of any one of you who dies while I am among you, except that you inform me about him, for my prayer over him is a mercy for him."
حدثنا هشيم قال أخبرنا عثمان بن حكيم عن خارجة بن زيد عن عمه يزيد بن ثابت وكان أكبر من زيد قال خرجنا مع رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم فلما وردنا البقيع إذا هو بقبر جديد فسأل عنه فقالوا فلانة فعرفها قال فقال أفلا آذنتموني بها قالوا كنت قائلا صائما فكرهنا أن نؤذنك فقال لا تفعلوا لا اعرفن ما مات منكم ميت ما كنت بين أظهركم إلا آذنتموني به فإن صلاتي عليه له رحمة
