Hadith 6:554
Zayd ibn al-Hubab narrated to us, he said: Mu'awiyah ibn Salih narrated to us, he said: Habib ibn Ubayd al-Kala'i narrated to me, from Jubayr ibn Nufayr al-Hadrami, from Awf ibn Malik al-Ashja'i, he said: I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, saying in the prayer over the deceased: "O Allah, forgive him and have mercy on him, and grant him well-being and pardon him, and honor his reception, and widen his entrance, and wash him with water, snow, and hail, and cleanse him of sins as the white garment is cleansed of filth. O Allah, replace for him a home better than his home, and a spouse better than his spouse, and a family better than his family, and admit him into Paradise, and save him from the Fire," or he said: "and protect him from the punishment of the grave," until I wished that I were him.
حدثنا زيد بن الحباب قال ثنا معاوية بن صالح قال حدثني حبيب بن عبيد الكلاعي عن جبير بن نفير الحضرمي عن عوف بن مالك الأشجعي قال سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول في الصلاة على الميت اللهم اغفر له وارحمه وعافه واعف عنه وأكرم نزله وأوسع مدخله واغسله بالماء والثلج والبرد ونقه من الخطايا كما ينقى الثوب الأبيض من الدنس اللهم أبدله دارا خيرا من داره وزوجا خيرا من زوجه وأهلا خيرا من أهله وأدخله الجنة ونجه من النار أو قال وقه عذاب القبر حتى تمنيت أن أكون هو
