Hadith 6:556
Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Shu'bah, from al-Jallas, from Uthman ibn Shammas, who said: We were with Abu Hurayrah when Marwan passed by him and said, "Some of your hadith from the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace." Then he went on. Then he returned, and we said, "Now he will fall upon him [criticize him]." He [Marwan] said, "How did you hear the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, pray over the funeral?" He [Abu Hurayrah] said: I heard him say, "O Allah, You guided it to Islam, and You took its soul, and You know its secret and its public. We have come as intercessors, so forgive it."
حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن شعبة عن الجلاس عن عثمان بن شماس قال كنا عند أبي هريرة فمر به مروان فقال بعض حديثك عن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم ثم مضى ثم رجع فقلنا الآن يقع به فقال كيف سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصلي على الجنازة قال سمعته يقول اللهم أنت هديتها للإسلام وأنت قبضت روحها تعلم سرها وعلانيتها جئناك شفعاء فاغفر لها
