Hadith 6:567
Ishaq ibn Sulayman narrated to us, from Hariz, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Awf, that he witnessed the funeral of Shurahbil ibn al-Samt. Habib ibn Maslamah arrived at it and approached us, as if looking down upon us from his mount due to his height. He said: "Exert yourselves in supplication for your brother, and let it be among what you supplicate for him: 'O Allah, forgive this Hanifite, Muslim soul, and make it among those who have repented and followed Your path, and protect it from the punishment of the Hellfire.'" And seek Allah’s help against your enemy.
حدثنا إسحاق بن سليمان عن جرير ( ( ( حريز ) ) ) عن عبد الرحمن بن أبي عوف عن بن لحي الهوزني أنه شهد جنازة شرحبيل بن السمط فقدم عليها حبيب بن مسلمة وأقبل علينا كالمشرف علينا على دابة من طوله فقال اجتهدوا لأخيكم في الدعاء وليكن فيما تدعون له اللهم اغفر لهذه النفس الحنيفية المسلمة واجعلها من الذين تابوا واتبعوا سبيلك وقها عذاب الجحيم واستنصروا الله على عدوكم
