Hadith 6:576
Hafs ibn Ghiyath narrated to us, from Ash'ath, from al-Sha'bi, who said regarding the first takbir: He begins with the praise of Allah and extolling Him. The second is prayer upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. The third is supplication for the deceased, and the fourth is for the taslim.
حدثنا حفص بن غياث عن أشعث عن الشعبي قال في التكبيرة الأولى يبدأ بحمد الله والثناء عليه والثانية صلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم والثالثة دعاء للميت والرابعة للتسليم
