Hadith 6:636
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abu Mu'awiyah narrated to us, from al-A'mash, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Abdullah ibn Ma'qil ibn Muqarrin, he said: Ali used to perform four takbirs [in the funeral prayer] during his reign over the funeral, except for Sahl ibn Hunayf, for he performed six takbirs over him. Then he turned to them and said: "He was a Badr [veteran]."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال ثنا أبو معاوية عن الأعمش عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن عبد الله بن معقل بن مقرن قال كبر علي في سلطانه أربعا أربعا على ( ( ( هاهنا ) ) ) الجنازة إلا على سهل بن حنيف فإنه كبر عليه ستا ثم التفت اليهم فقال إنه بدري
