Hadith 6:745
Waki’ narrated to us, from Hammam, from Nafi’ Abu Ghalib, that a funeral of a man was brought to Anas. He stood at the head of the bier. Then the funeral of a woman was brought, and he stood lower than that at the bier. Al-‘Ala’ ibn Ziyad said, "Is this how you saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, do?" He said, "Yes." Then he turned to us and said, "Memorize it."
حدثنا وكيع عن همام عن نافع أبي غالب عن أنس أنه أتي بجنازة رجل فقام عند رأس السرير وجيء بجنازة امرأة فقام اسفل من ذلك عند السرير فقال العلاء ( ( ( العلاؤ ) ) ) بن زياد هكذا رأيت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يصنع قال نعم ثم أقبل علينا فقال احفظوه
