Hadith 6:954
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Hushaym narrated to us, he said: Mansur informed us, from al-Hasan, he said: A red velvet cloth was placed in the *lahd* (niche) of the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, which he had obtained on the day of Hunayn. He said: So they placed it beneath him because Medina is a saline land.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال ثنا هشيم قال أخبرنا منصور عن الحسن قال جعل في لحد رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم قطيفة حمراء ( ( ( حمراؤ ) ) ) كان أصابها يوم حنين قال فجعلوها ( تحته ) لأن المدينة أرض سبخة
