Hadith 6:988
Mu'awiyah ibn Hisham narrated to us, Sufyan narrated to us, from 'Alqamah ibn Marthad, from Sulayman ibn Buraydah, from his father, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) used to teach them when they went out to the graveyards, so their speaker would say: "Peace be upon you, O inhabitants of the dwellings, from among the believers and the Muslims. And indeed, if Allah wills, we will join you. You are our predecessors, and we are your followers. And we ask Allah for well-being for us and for you."
حدثنا معاوية بن هشام ثنا سفيان عن علقمة بن مرثد عن سليمان بن بريدة عن أبيه قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يعلمهم إذا خرجوا إلى المقابر فكان قائلهم يقول السلام عليكم يا أهل الديار من المؤمنين والمسلمين وإنا إن شاء الله بكم للاحقون أنتم لنا فرط ونحن لكم تبع ونسأل الله لنا ولكم العافية
