Hadith 8:1045
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Isma’il bin Abi Khalid, from al-Sha’bi, from ‘Urwah bin Mudarris al-Ta’i, that he performed Hajj during the time of the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, but he did not catch up with the people until they were at Jam’. He said: So I came to the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, I have exhausted myself and fatigued my mount. By Allah, I did not leave a mountain from among the mountains except that I stood upon it. So is there any Hajj for me?" The Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said: "Whoever prays this prayer with us, and has already departed from ‘Arafat before that, by night or by day, then he has fulfilled his rites and his Hajj is complete."
