Hadith 8:1436
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Jarir narrated to us, from Layth, from Nafi’, from Ibn ‘Umar, he said: ‘Umar said to the people of Iraq: "Look for a place parallel to Qarn." So they found that its parallel was Dhat ‘Irq, and Qarn is closer to Makkah than Dhat ‘Irq. He said: "So he designated it for the people of Iraq."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا جرير عن ليث عن نافع عن بن عمر قال قال عمر لأهل العراق انظروا حذاء قرن فوجدوا حذاءها ذات عرق وقرن أقرب إلى مكة من ذات عرق قال فجعله لأهل العراق
