Hadith 8:1454
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Yazid, from Mujahid, from Ibn Abbas, who said: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "This is a sanctuary—meaning Makkah—which Allah has made sacred for me for an hour of the day. Its thorns must not be cut, its game must not be startled, its vegetation must not be uprooted, and its lost property must not be picked up except by one who announces it." Al-Abbas said: "O Messenger of Allah, the people of Makkah have no patience without the *idhkhir* (rush grass) for their blacksmiths and their buildings." The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Except for the *idhkhir*."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن فضيل عن يزيد عن مجاهد عن بن عباس قال قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم هذه حرم يعني مكة حرمها الله لي ساعة من نهار لا يعضد شوكها ولا ينفر صيدها ولا يختلي خلالها ولا يرفع لقطتها إلا لمنشد فقال العباس يا رسول الله إن أهل مكة لا صبر لهم عن الإذخر لقينهم ( 1 ) وبنيانهم فقال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم إلا الإذخر
