Hadith 8:1491
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Yazid ibn Harun narrated to us, from Hajjaj, from al-Hakam, from Mujahid: He said: It was only named Bakkah because the people crowd (yabukku) one another in it. And indeed, it is permitted in it what is not permitted in other than it.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا يزيد بن هارون عن حجاج عن الحكم عن مجاهد قال إنما سميت بكة لأن الناس يبك بعضهم بعضا فيها وإنه يحل فيها ما لا يحل في غيرها
