Hadith 8:1741
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Numayr narrated to us, from Ubayd Allah ibn Umar, from Nafi, from Ibn Umar, that al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib asked the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) for permission to spend the nights of Mina in Makkah. So he gave him permission because of his duty of providing water (to the pilgrims).
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن نمير عن عبيد الله بن عمر عن نافع عن بن عمر أن العباس بن عبد المطلب استأذن رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم أن يبيت بمكة ليالي منى فأذن له من أجل سقايته
