Hadith 8:1752
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Fudayl ibn Marzuq, from ‘Atiyyah, who said: I asked a freed slave of Ibn ‘Umar about the death of Ibn ‘Umar. He said: A man from the people of Syria struck him with the iron head of a spear. Al-Hajjaj entered upon him to visit him and said: "If I knew who struck you, I would have done such and such [to him]." He [Ibn ‘Umar] said: "You are the one who struck me; you brought weapons into the Sanctuary."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن فضيل بن مرزوق عن عطية قال سألت مولى لابن عمر عن موت بن عمر قال أصابه رجل من أهل الشام بزج فدخل عليه الحجاج يعوده فقال لو أعلم من أصابك لفعلت وفعلت قال أنت اصبتني أدخلت السلاح الحرم
