Hadith 8:1864
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Zakariyya, from al-Sha’bi, from Wahb ibn al-Ajda’, that he heard Umar saying: "He begins at al-Safa and faces the House (the Kaaba), then he says the takbir (Allahu Akbar) seven times. Between every two takbirs, he praises Allah and invokes blessings upon the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, and asks Him for himself. And upon al-Marwa, he does the same."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن فضيل عن زكريا عن الشعبي عن وهب بن الأجدع أنه سمع عمر يقول يبدأ بالصفا ويستقبل البيت ثم يكبر سبع تكبيرات بين كل تكبيرتين حمد الله والصلاة على النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم ويسأله لنفسه وعلى المروة مثل ذلك
