Musannaf Ibn Abi Shayba 8:1950

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Abd al-Aziz ibn Abd al-Samad al-Ammi narrated to us, from Ata ibn al-Sa’ib, who said: I saw Abu Ja’far stone the Jamrah before the rising of the sun. And Ata, Tawus, Mujahid, al-Nakha’i, Amir, and Sa’id ibn Jubayr used to stone [the Jamrah] when they arrived, at whatever hour they arrived; they did not see any harm in that.
