Hadith 8:1990
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali bin Hashim narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Ikrimah bin Khalid, from a man from the family of al-Wadi‘, who said: The Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, asked for a drink while he was circumambulating the House (the Kaaba). A man said, "Shall we not give you to drink from a beverage we make?" He brought him a vessel containing raisin *nabidh* (soaked raisins). He (the Prophet) said, "Could you not have covered the vessel, or placed a stick across it?" Then he drank from it and frowned. Then he called for water and poured it into it, then he drank and gave his companions to drink.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا علي بن هاشم عن بن أبي ليلى عن عكرمة بن خالد عن رجل من آل الوادع قال استسقى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم وهو يطوف بالبيت فقال رجل ألا نسقيك من شراب نصنعه فأتاه بإناء فيه نبيذ زبيب فقال ألا أكفيت عليه إناء أو عرضت عليه عودا ثم شرب منه فقطب ثم دعا بماء فصبه فيه فشرب وسقى أصحابه
