Hadith 8:2021
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from al-Awza’i, from a man whom he did not name, from Abd al-Rahman ibn Awf, that he was performing Tawaf with the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace. He (the Prophet) said to him: "How many are you counting?" Then he said: "I only asked you so that you would memorize."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن الأوزاعي عن رجل لم يكن يسمه عن عبد الرحمن بن عوف أنه كان يطوف مع النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم فقال له كم تعد ثم قال إنما سألتك لتحفظ
