Hadith 8:2088
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from Sufyan, from Mansur, from Mujahid, from a man who is called Yusuf, from Ibn al-Zubayr, he said: A man came to the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my son has died and he did not perform Hajj, so shall I perform Hajj on his behalf?" He said: "Is he your eldest son?" He said: "Yes." He said: "Then perform Hajj on behalf of your son. Do you see, if your son had a debt, would you pay it off?"
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن سفيان عن منصور عن مجاهد عن رجل يقال له يوسف عن بن الزبير قال أتى النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم رجل فقال يا رسول الله إن إبني مات ولم يحج فأحج عنه قال إنه اكبر ولدك قال نعم قال فحج عن ابنك أرأيت لو كان على ابنك دين فقضيته
