Hadith 8:211

Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Zayd ibn Aslam, from Ibrahim ibn ‘Abd Allah ibn Hunayn, from his father, who said: Ibn ‘Abbas and al-Miswar ibn Makhramah differed regarding the *muhrim* (a person in the state of ihram) washing his head. He said: My affair is to Abu Ayyub. So I came to him while he was between the two pillars of the well, bathing. I said: "Indeed, your nephew, Ibn ‘Abbas, has sent me to you, saying: 'How did you see the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, wash his head while he was a *muhrim*?'" He took some water and poured it over his head, then he moved forward and backward. He said: "Thus I saw the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, do while he was a *muhrim*." I returned to them both and informed them of his statement. Al-Miswar said: "I will never disagree with you."
