Hadith 8:2196
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn Fudayl narrated to us, from Yazid ibn Abi Ziyad, from Ibn Abi Nu'm, from Abu Sa'id, that he said: The person in ihram may kill the snake, the scorpion, the aggressive beast of prey, the biting dog, and the mouse, which is the "little corruptor" (al-fuwaysiqah). It was said to him: "Why was it called the 'little corruptor'?" He said: "Because the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, woke up because of it, and it had taken a wick to burn the house with it."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا بن فضيل عن يزيد بن أبي زياد عن بن أبي نعم عن أبي سعيد أنه قال يقتل المحرم الحية والعقرب والسبع العاد والكلب العقور والفأرة الفويسقة فقيل له لم قيل الفويسقة قال لأن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم استيقظ بها وقد أخذت فتيلة تحرق بها البيت
