Hadith 8:2374
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ali bin Hashim narrated to us, from Ibn Abi Layla, from Ata, who said: I said to Ibn Umar: "The crescent [of Dhu al-Hijjah] was sighted, so he entered into the state of Ihram from his place." Then, when the following year came, it was said to him: "The crescent has been sighted," while he was in the house. So he removed a garment that was upon him, then he entered into the state of Ihram. Then, when the third year came, it was said to him: "The crescent has been sighted." He said: "I am only a man among my companions; I do as they do." So he remained in a state of non-Ihram (halal) until it was the Day of Tarwiyah.
