Hadith 8:2438
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Waki’ narrated to us, from al-A’mash, from Habib, from Sa’id ibn Jubayr, from Ibn Abbas, who said: It was mentioned to him that Mu’awiyah had forbidden the *talbiyah*. So he came until he took hold of the two poles of the tent, then he recited the *talbiyah*. Then he said: "He knew that Ali used to recite the *talbiyah* on this day, so he wanted to oppose him."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال حدثنا وكيع عن الأعمش عن حبيب عن سعيد بن جبير عن بن عباس قال ذكر له أن معاوية نهى عن التلبية فجاء حتى أخذ بعمودي الفسطاط ثم لبى ثم قال علم أن عليا كان يلبي في هذا اليوم فأحب أن يخالفه
