Hadith 8:2538
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from ‘Amr, from Abu Ma‘bad, he said: I heard Ibn ‘Abbas saying: I heard the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, delivering a sermon, saying: "A woman must not travel except with a mahram." A man stood up and said: "O Messenger of Allah, my wife has gone out for Hajj, and I have been registered for such-and-such a military expedition." He said: "Go and perform Hajj with your wife."
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا بن عيينة عن عمرو عن أبي معبد قال سمعت بن عباس يقول سمعت النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم يخطب يقول لا تسافر امرأة إلا مع ذي محرم فقام رجل فقال يا رسول الله إن امرأتي خرجت حاجة وإني اكتبت في غزوة كذا وكذا فقال انطلق فحج مع امرأتك
