Hadith 8:2580
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: 'Abdah narrated to us, from Ibn Abi 'Arubah, from Matar al-Warraq, from Mu'awiyah ibn Qurrah, that a man caused his camel to trample ostrich eggs. He asked 'Ali, and he said: "Upon you for every egg is the covering of a she-camel or the fetus of a she-camel." So he went to the Messenger of Allah (may Allah bless him and grant him peace) and informed him of what he had said. He said: "He has said what you heard, but come to the concession: upon you for every egg is the fasting of a day or the feeding of a poor person."
