Hadith 8:2690
Abu Bakr narrated to us, he said: Sufyan ibn ‘Uyaynah narrated to us, from Ibn Tawus, from his father, who said: The people of the Jahiliyyah used to depart from ‘Arafat before the setting of the sun. So Allah delayed this and brought this forward. He delayed the one from ‘Arafat until the setting of the sun, and He brought forward the one from Muzdalifah before the rising of the sun.
حدثنا أبو بكر قال نا سفيان بن عيينة عن بن طاوس عن أبيه قال كان أهل الجاهلية يدفعون من عرفات قبل غروب الشمس فأخر الله هذه وقدم هذه آخر التي من عرفة إلى غروب الشمس وقدم التي من مزدلفة قبل طلوع الشمس
